Getting Started with Minimal Design
Why Minimal Design?
Minimal design is more than just removing visual elements. It's a philosophy of intention—every line, every color, every space serves a purpose. When you strip away the unnecessary, what remains becomes more powerful.
Core Principles
White Space: Often the most underrated design element. White space creates breathing room, guides the eye, and improves readability.
Typography: When you limit decoration, typography becomes your primary design tool. Choose typefaces that have character and pair them thoughtfully.
Color: A limited palette is more sophisticated than a rainbow. Consider using a dominant color with one or two accents.
Grid Systems: Invisible structure creates order. A good grid system ensures consistency and rhythm across your design.
Getting Started
Start by auditing your current design. Remove one element at a time. Ask yourself: "Does this add value?" If the answer is no, it goes. You'll be surprised how much stronger your work becomes.
